Directions to the Regional Meet in Perryton

Here are directions to Perryton, if you plan to go to the regional meet. According to MapQuest, this is a 2.5 hour drive of nearly 140 miles.

Once you get in Perryton, you, " . . . turn right (east) at the first blinking yellow light you come to. This is FM 281 . . . Follow this road until it runs into US Hwy 83, then turn left (north). The entrance to Wolf Creek Park/Lake Fryer will be marked with road signs and we will have red cross country signs up also. You will turn right off the highway to go to the lake. From there, follow the red cross country signs. Don’t turn in at the main entrance to the lake but the second entrance. There is a little rifle range on the left, but once again we’ll have red signs to follow."

See you there! GO EAGLES!

Parent Volunteers Needed for Canyon Meet

Coach Kirton is looking for parent volunteers for the Canyon meet. Can you help? Parents are needed to monitor different segments of the running trail, to help at the finish line, to enter race data into a computer system, and much, much more.

Let Coach know. His e-mail addy is wkirton@canyonisd.net, if you want to drop him a quick note.

Thanks!

After School Workouts Start Monday

Good news! Runners get to sleep in a bit. :)

Coach Kirton has announced that after school workouts begin on Monday, October 1, 2007.

(Gee, what happened to September?)

Lubbock Meet Update

Coach Kirton has asked that this information be provided to all. So here goes!

1. Bedtime on Friday night is 10:15 p.m. This means that runners must leave the Friday night football game . . . or wherever they are . . . by 9:30 p.m.

2. Runners are to obtain their current grades from their teachers and give them to Coach Kirton. Parents need to check on their runners' grades as well to determine whether or not they are passing all classes.

3. The bus leaves CHS for Lubbock at 6:15 a.m. The bus will return around 2:30 p.m. Runners should be at CHS by 6:00 a.m. for an on-time departure.

4. The runners will eat at One Guys after the meet.

5. Runners will race by divisions. CHS will run with other 3A schools.

6. Here are the run times for Saturday morning:

Varsity girls run at 10:00 a.m.
Varsity boys run at 10:30 a.m.
Junior varsity girls run at 11:00 a.m.
Junior varsity boys run at 11:30 a.m.
